Nigel Farage Accuses Educators of ‘Poisoning Our Kids’ on Race Issues

Nigel Farage has asserted that educators would initiate walkouts within weeks a success at the polls for his party, charging that they are “poisoning our kids” by instructing children that black pupils are victims and Caucasian students are perpetrators.

At a gathering for a Michigan-based religious institution, Farage outlined his perspective on the UK education system, claiming that the “radical left-wing” had “now in control of our education system”.

“I expect a teachers’ strike soon after securing a victory,” Farage commented in response to questions.

“They are poisoning our kids. They are telling them to be ashamed of their country. They are telling little Johnny, who’s eight, who is black that he is oppressed and a white child of the same age that he is a perpetrator. They are dividing us, instead of fostering unity. They promote this harmful mindset.”

Reacting to Farage’s claims, the head of a major education union rejected the notion that the education system was controlled by Marxists as “nonsense”. He pointed out that any strikes must relate to educators’ working conditions, and questioned whether the party would target these immediately upon entering government.

“The politician has crafted his political career on dog-whistle politics and now, similar to other figures, he is lining up teachers and their organizations for a fight,” the union leader said.

“I think that’s grossly irresponsible. I don’t – and nor does my union – push critical race theory as he’s suggesting … Should he become prime minister he would undermine state services, particularly schooling … and the outcome would be catastrophic for education and children.”

The party, which is leading the polls by a significant margin, has not set out much detail on its educational plans and does not appear to have appointed an education spokesperson.

However, his comments suggested the party would overhaul the educational framework. He said: “We face an enormous task with schooling – absolutely herculean. Moreover, we can’t do it in six months or a year; it requires years, a long-term effort to reform.”

He stated that gen Z was more open to critical thinking, but older youth were “completely lost”.

Paying tribute to a conservative activist, he commented: “My goal for schooling is to foster independent thought – to instruct people that multiple perspectives exist and you make up your own mind rather than what’s happening now where one is virtuous and one is evil. This is a huge undertaking in both Britain and America.”

The party has conflicted with a major educators’ organization, after Kebede called the party “far right and racist” and described the leader as “a poundshop Donald Trump”.

Farage has accused the union head with being “a self-declared Marxist” … someone who is absolutely determined that our children should be poisoned at school, their thinking tainted about everything to do with this country” and has argued that the organization seeks to brainwash teenagers against Reform.

Roughly a million individuals work in schools in the UK, about half of whom are teachers and the remainder being assistants and administrative personnel. The major education union has hundreds of thousands of members.

National strikes over educators’ salaries and work environment in recent years led to significant interruptions in schools and extensive missed instruction for children.

During the American gathering, Farage also pledged to help spread the digital courses of the institution in the UK. He said such groups were “part of the fightback”, noting: “I am serious. I will help attract vast numbers of young people to these educational programs. I pledge this now and I will follow through.”

The college, a religious educational establishment, provides complimentary classes. According to its online description: “A scientific, literary, theological, political, and moral education is vital for well-being and to perpetuate the blessings of civil and religious liberty. It offers these excellent programs for free to every interested learner.”
