The New Animated Series' Introductory Sequence Chose the Incorrect Popular RPG Show Track

The Mighty Nein, the most recent animated series by Critical Role, revealed an exciting opening credits. It features our favorite group of outcasts, outcasts, and criminals kicking ass and making their mark, while also hinting at multiple agonizing backstories for key figures such as Liam O'Brien's mage Caleb, and another actor's warlock orc, Fjord.

All in all, the intro appears stunning. However, I felt that something was missing in the music selection.

The intro uses "Welcome to Wildemount", an exceptional song created by producer and singer Colm McGuinness. It's a track originating from the official score of the same name, the second one released by Critical Role Productions LLC's music division their music brand. It's a wonderful sentimental choice, and I believe that devotees of the sequel series will appreciate its inclusion.

Personally, The series' intro fails to capture the hype and energy that accompanied the second campaign's live-play sessions. "It's Your Turn", composed by musician Jason Charles Miller, became an immediate hit in my view when it was initially unveiled in that year, and it improved further when cast member the performer added lyrics to the melody for the series' animated intro in 2018.

Featuring vocals from Ashley Johnson, another performer, a co-star, as well as the writer, the song was catchy and fun. At the time, I hadn't seen the follow-up series yet, but this was such an earworm that I kept it on my device. This track that excites you before you dive into an episode of adventurous fun.

The Mighty Nein's intro with "the new song" fails to hit the right notes in my opinion. It's an impressive piece of music, but based on my understanding of the group, I feel that its tone is a little off.

Of course, the creators has stated that the series will have a few surprises and variations from the original live sessions. An adjusted mood for its intro appears as one of them.

The Mighty Nein will be released on the streaming service from November 19. For those eager until then, or want a head start to get to know the personas of the second series, the original episodes are accessible on the audio platform and the video site.
